Overnight Oats for a Quick Fuelling Breakfast

by | Aug 30, 2023

If you struggle to start the day with a good breakfast – then these are for you.

Grab an old jam jar with a screw lid, or an agee/mason jar that can be covered (you may have a cloth or silicon cover). It could even be a reusable plastic container.

Then simply pre-preapre these jars of over night oats on a Sunday evening, and grab one from the fridge each morning. You’ll have eaten it by the time you wait for the kettle to boil for your morning coffee. Or eat on the run!

You can make as many or as little of these in advance as you like.
They will last in your fridge for up to a week.

You will want to use jars or containers with a wide mouth so that you don’t spill your ingredients as you try and cram them in. I use my stainless steel preserving funnel for this job (similar to the one in the photo)

You make your oats taste the way you want them too.
Flavour options could be;

Berries and Jam
Choc banana
Nut Banana
Apple pie

Can I use frozen berries?

Of course you can.
You can even use tinned berries.

How long will they last?

You can prepare these at the beginning of the week. Simply cover and store in your fridge. The jars of breakfast will last 5-7 days in the fridge.

Can I make it Gluten Free and Dairy Free?

Yes! You totally can!
Simply opt for gluten free Weed-bix for a Gluten Free option,
And use any dairy-free milk and yoghurt alternative instead of cows milk and yoghurt. Almond milk and oat milk are a great alternative. Or perhaps you could use coconut yoghurt.

I don’t have any yoghurt!

Don’t worry – just leave it out and add another 1/2 cup of milk.

What are some other flavour options?
