If you’re short on time but big on sweet cravings, two-ingredient fudge might just be your new best friend
This simple yet indulgent treat has trending on my instagram account, and for good reason—it’s rich, creamy, and ready in minutes. Whether you’re preparing for a party, filling a gift box, or just need a quick chocolate fix, this foolproof fudge will hit the spot.

Why Two-Ingredient Fudge Works
You might be wondering how just two ingredients can create something so delicious. The secret lies in the combination of canned caramel and chocolate—two pantry staples that, when melted together, form the perfect texture and flavour of traditional fudge without the faff.
No candy thermometer, no special equipment, no stress.
A Perfect Base for Creativity
One of the best things about this two-ingredient fudge recipe is how easy it is to customise. Add crushed nuts, a pinch of sea salt, peppermint essence, or swirl in some peanut butter. You can even top it with sprinkles for a festive touch. Once you’ve mastered the base, the flavour possibilities are endless.

Ideal for Gifts and Last-Minute Treats
Homemade fudge makes a beautiful homemade gift—especially when it only takes five minutes to make! Wrap it up in a tin or jar, tie with a ribbon, and you’ve got a thoughtful present that’s as budget-friendly as it is delicious.
If you would like a Russian fudge inspired variety – try this recipe here that uses white chocolate.
The type of chocolate does matter
The type of chocolate you use can make a big difference in both flavour and texture.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
Best choice: Good quality eating chocolate
- Think Whittaker’s, Lindt, or your favourite block chocolate.
- These chocolates have a smooth melt and rich flavour.
- They’ll give your fudge that creamy, indulgent finish.
Baking chocolate (e.g. chocolate melts or cooking buttons):
- These are formulated to hold their shape in baking, so they don’t melt quite as smoothly.
- They can work, but your fudge might be slightly grainier or firmer.
- Go for them only if that’s what you’ve got on hand—just melt slowly and stir well.
Avoid chocolate chips meant for cookies:
- They often contain stabilisers to stop them melting properly.
- This can make your fudge lumpy or thick instead of smooth.
If you’re using dark chocolate, choose something around 50–60% cocoa for the best balance. Higher cocoa can make the fudge a bit bitter without extra sweetener.
