The Best Fudgy Chocolate Icing Recipe
The chocolate icing recipe that you didn't know you needed.
Servings: 1 Cake
- 3 tbsp melted butter (45 grams)
- 3 tbsp cocoa
- 3 tbsp castor sugar
- 3 tbsp water
- 1½ cups icing sugar (powdered sugar)
Place the melted butter, cocoa, castor sugar and water in a pot and place on a low heat. Bring to a rolling boil.
Prepare the icing sugar by sifting it into a plate.
Take off the heat and add the icing sugar. Beat using your wooden spoon or dough whisk until the Ising is smooth and glossy.
Pour over your cake and use your palette knife to smooth the icing over the cake. It will set quickly so move fast.
Once set, use a hot knife to cut the cake. Run under a hot water tap between slices to ensure a clean slice.
