Delicious Milo Biscuits

These milo and chocolate chip biscuits are an easy quick bake you won't be able to resist.

Equipment

  • 1 Cake Mixer or Electric hand held mixer
  • 1 teaspoon
  • 1 fork and a cup of water
  • Cookie trays
  • Reusable tray liners a great reusable option to avoid single use waste
  • Wire cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 225 grams softened butter (at room temp)
  • 1 cup white sugar (200 grams)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milo (or drinking chocolate)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate into small chips)
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Pre heat your oven to 180° and line your cookie trays.
  • Soften your butte,r or allow your butter time to come up to room temperature.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until soft and pale in colour.
  • Add the egg and mix again until well combined.
  • Add the milo (or drinking chocolate), salt, baking powder, flour and chocolate. And mix again on a low speed until the dough is well combined.
  • Use a teaspoon to scoop up small amounts of dough and roll into balls. Place on your lined trays.
  • Wet a fork in a cup of water and press down to create a pattern on the surface of the biscuit. Wet the fork again and make a cross.
  • Bake for 15 minutes until golden in colour. Allow to rest for 5-10. minutes when you take them out of the oven before transferring them to a cooling rack.
